The citizens' community of Ettingen owns three row houses on Birkenweg, which are to be replaced by a new apartment building. To achieve this, the municipality organized an invited competition with nine participants, stipulating that the new building must be a timber construction. Our contribution focused particularly on optimizing sunlight and open spaces. We proposed a flexible floor plan system that allows for a variety of apartment types, ranging from 2 ½ to 4 ½ rooms.
