The municipality of Arlesheim has announced an open project competition. The task was to plan a new community hall combined with commercial uses consisting of small apartments and commerce.
Our guiding principle was "Skipping Stones". Shapes like pebbles on the lake shore. When ones is throwing stones, spreading waves are created.In German one says "creating waves" for making an impact. Performances and events such as theater, music or community gatherings can make an impact - create waves, spreading from the center of the event to far into the population.
